Sarah Kamrath
After receiving her Bachelor of Science in business, Sarah worked as a senior research analyst for a multi-billion dollar investment fund for six years. She then moved to Singapore and stepped away from the business world while pregnant with her first child; that is when she shifted her focus from researching securities to researching natural pregnancy and childbirth. After having a powerful and empowering experience giving birth to her son, Sarah’s desire to help other women achieve their ideal births blossomed. She became certified as a prenatal yoga teacher while pregnant with her second child and currently teaches prenatal workshops and assists world renowned yoga guru, Gurmukh Kaur Khalsa with annual prenatal teacher trainings in New York City, Santa Monica, and around the world.

Her passion for helping women tap into their inner wisdom and truth and gracefully and joyfully embrace this profoundly transformative time of their lives is what inspired her to produce the Happy Healthy Child video series. Sarah is also a doula and a freelance writer and was recently published in Mothering Magazine (www.mothering.com), Natural Life Magazine (www.naturallifemagazine.com), and Pathways Magazine (www.pathwaystofamilywellness.org). She lives in Rowayton, Connecticut with her husband, Ray, and two children, Lukas and Nadia. 8. Frequently Asked Questions
Frequently Asked Questions: Location

Q: Are there hotels near Golden Bridge NYC?

A: Yes! Below is a list of good hotels that are not too far from our yoga center. (Click on the name of the hotel to go to their website for prices and availability)

Frequently Asked Questions: Teachers Training

Q: I will be pregnant during the course, is that okay?

A:  More than okay, it’s wonderful! We can’t imagine a better blessing for you and your baby than to participate in this course!

Q: I am still breastfeeding my child, can I bring her/him with me to class?
A: Unfortunately no. As much as we love children here at Golden Bridge, the course is intensive and powerful and we prefer that it’s a grown-ups only experience for your sake and the sake of your fellow students. There are ample breaks throughout the day for your partner or child care provider to bring baby over for breastfeeding.

Q: Can I take the course if I’ve never taken Kundalini Yoga before?
A: Of course, but we highly recommend that you take a Kundalini Yoga class before arriving, even if it’s just a DVD class, so that you have the experience of the energy.

Q: Will I be certified to teach Prenatal Yoga by the end of the course?
A: You’ll be well on your way, however the following certification requirements must be met before you are fully certified and prepared to teach:

  • Attendance at 10 prenatal classes in your area (5 Khalsa Way and 5 other schools of prenatal yoga classes). If there are not any Khalsa Way certified teachers in your area, you may use Gurmukh’s Pregnancy Yoga DVD’s. Try to find at least 5 prenatal classes to attend in a studio.
  • Creation of 3 sample pregnancy yoga classes, with postures and a meditation included in each class outline.
  • Submission of a DVD of you teaching a sample 1-hour yoga set.
  • A 40-day meditation that will be assigned at the end of the course.
